ThebesAndSound is a 2b2t player notable for creating the Southern Canal, and leading Public Works during the 7th Incursion.

History

Thebes joined in 2014, and created the Southern Canal in December of that same year. Early work on the canal was done by Thebes, ChadDX, Dic, joshYarnspinner, rainyafternoon and others as part of the Southern Canal Corp. Several months after TheCampingRusher joined in 2016, Thebes became part of the X+ Diggers (also known as the Nether Highway Group), and subsequently based at Point Dory and joined Mu afterward.

At Mu, Thebes would use the chunk dupe to create stashes with thousands of dubs (double chests) of materials, which were eventually world-edited out by Hausemaster, among other things.

During the Seventh Incursion, Thebes was the leader of Public Works, and a General and Sectional Leader of Henry's Incursion, where Public Works contributed to infrastructure projects around Spawn. After the end of the Incursion (not Reloaded), Thebes continued to work on his project independently of jared2013's incursion.

Thebes is also a staff member on the Map Artists of 2b2t Discord.

In January 2023, Thebes founded the WaterWay Union alongside Godroster. They expanded the entire Southern Canal to 32 blocks wide, and upgraded the anti-griefing measures on the canal. Thebes continues to lead the WaterWay Union and supplies tools and materials to members of the group for work on the Canal.

Present

Currently Thebes continues his work on the Southern Canal, working together with Godroster to lead the WaterWay Union.

Thebes was instrumental in redesigning the Canal to its current design of 32 blocks wide, as well as designing many of the infrastructure aspects of the canal such as the water spouts and obsidian bridges that can be seen on the canal.

Thebes works with IronException and PoTheMagicDragon to create modules for hack clients that are used on the canal by workers to make work easier.
