1st Incursion

I Incursion or 1st Incursion or The First Incursion was organized by Valkyria (group) and occurred in June of 2013. The event took place at a time when the number of players was small. Therefore, the main information was obtained from Sato86, as well as from a documentary video by FitMC.

Valkyrians

The 1st Incursion, also known as ‘Incursion I’ or the ‘Spawn Invasion’, was an event that took place in June 2013. At the time the base members of Valkyria were getting bored and decided to ‘invade’ spawn and take control of the spawn region. Equipped with kinorana’s duped ‘God’ armor and gear (presumably max enchanted gear), a group of Valkyrians traveled to spawn to kill players and withers. The ‘patrols’ also had a good area to work with due to the admin recently flattening spawn to decrease lag on the server. The invaders settled down at 2k2k, the base the Facepunch Republic had tried to defend earlier, and used it as a base of operation. The invasion lasted for around a week, but soon afterwards fell apart due to participants pursuing other goals. Due to this the leader Sato86 considered the incursion mostly a failure, be it that the participants didn’t really care about it at the time. The invasion basically lacked clear objectives and goals, causing players to become disorganized and lose interest in the event very quickly. Yet, the event also showed that even in anarchy, players could band together to accomplish something. In later years the event was called an ‘incursion’, one of the unique moments where a sizable portion of the community comes together to achieve a specific goal, mostly focussed around the spawn region. Nowadays the 1st Incursion is considered the first of the three ‘classic incursions’, which took place before the presence of big youtubers on the server.<ref>FitMC - 2b2t's History of Incursions</ref>
